I liked several of the covers but ultimately picked #7 for it's simplicity and felt it had a "period" time feel to it. Some of the first covers looked too modern for the story line. Several of the others seemed to have been used before like the old building and the sunset/river look. Some the others seemed too busy. This is of course a very personal choice. Good luck and will look forward to seeing what the final pick is.

Thank you all for your feedback! It's been really fascinating to read through your various thoughts as the votes rolled in. We'll definitely keep your ideas in mind when we make and revise our final cover.

A lot of good choices. #5 is my favorite, but #3 is a close 2nd. Several of these covers are good enough that, if I were at a book rack, I'd pick it up & check it out.

Thank you to all who have voted! Please pass on the link to others because, as you can see, the voting is really all over the place. Each of us at BSP, as well as the author, have our own favorites, too. This one is proving to be a difficult choice!

I really liked #9. It seemed to capture the story and theme the best. It also had more information on what the book was about.

I picked #5. For me, the cover suggests an air of mystery with the fog-laden distant hills reflected against otherwise still waters. What I felt each of the covers lacked in their designs however, was something indicative of the war to come - some hint of the storm that was about to break and change all their lives. I get that with the tag line, but didn't feel it in the artwork. Perhaps something reflected in the water or perturbing its surface? Or maybe something in the deep BG. And then again, perhaps I'm being too literal...

My vote is #3, it's simply more interesting, inviting and visually pleasing. However, I'd rather see the caption from #9!!

Number 6, by a nose. Although, I don't know if my vote should be trusted, I don't have the best eye for such things.

I like the tagline on that one best, too. A Novel of Utopian Dreams and Civil War means more than A Novel of Daybreak.
